HA! HYPERTENSION AWARENESS

HA! Hypertension Awareness

Good health is wealth!   This could not be more evident than the massive impact of COVID-19 we’ve seen in 2020.  People with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart issues and other chronic diseases are are at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 and having negative outcomes.

Maurice Nunes founded HA! to inform and educate the Caribbean population about the dangers and warning signs of hypertension (high blood pressure) and other chronic conditions, such as Stroke, Diabetes and Heart disease, to ensure others do not suffer the way Maurice and his family did.

In 2018, Maurice suffered a hemorrhagic stroke due to poor management of hypertension. As he was training daily and lifting heavy weights, he thought he was healthy. He now realizes fit and healthy are two very different things. Now, he lives a holistically healthy life, eating healthy, training daily and managing stress. Most importantly, he knows his numbers. He regularly tracks all of his medical statistics and meets with his doctor annually for a comprehensive check up.

HA!  provides easily consumable information about preventing and managing hypertension, as well as how to live a healthy life in public forums and it corporate settings to help educate the public on how to stay healthy and avoid chronic disease and all the complications that come with them.

Many people, especially men, do not have medical check-ups on a regular basis and are unaware of their medical stats such as weight, BMI, blood pressure, cholesterol level and A1C (sugar).  Its imperative that you know your numbers.  This information will let you know how healthy you truly are.

Just because others in your family may suffer from hypertension, diabetes or other chronic diseases, it doesn’t mean this is your destiny.  You can control your level of health by making healthy lifestyle choices.  If you know that these conditions are prevalent in your family, then you should make more of an effort to learn how to introduce healthy changes.  Genetics may load the gun, but lifestyle pulls the trigger.  You control your destiny and make it be a happy and healthy one.

We understand that change is hard and no one gets excited about giving up food they love or beginning a scheduled exercise routine when you’ve sat on the couch for many years.  However, we can help you introduce small changes to get you healthier so you’ll continue to live a long, healthy life surrounded by those you love.
